DULCIMER WORKSHOP

We will be exploring the 'alternate' way of playing the mountain dulcimer. Yes you can strum and play chords the traditional way.

But there are so many great notes in those individual strings!  Come learn how to find them!

We will also have a time slot for basic beginners, hands on road map of the instrument.

See Dulcimer Registration page to register.

Kim McKee has shared music professionally for 30 years. She is part of ""Willson and McKee" a duo with her husband Ken Willson. They have toured, performed, and taught across the United States and the United Kingdom.

Back in the 'old days', Colorado had a state dulcimer championship. Kim won the Colorado State Champsionship four times, which sent her to the National Championship in Winfield, Kansas.  At the Nationals, she took 2nd place on her very first try. In 2002, she returned and won 1st place in the National Championship.

In addition to playing the dulcimer, Kim is an award-winning song writer, and a multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist (including playing the Celtic harp!) As a special offering for the Spanish Peaks Harp Retreat 2020 gathering, Kim will present a dulcimer workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020. See information at left.
